American odds or "moneyline" odds, are a type of sports betting odds.
Favourites: Shown by a minus symbol (-). The figure indicates the amount of money you must wager in order to win $100. Underdogs: Shown by a plus (+) symbol. The figure indicates the amount you will earn if you wager $100.
For instance, you would have to wager $150 to win $100 if a team had odds of -150. A $100 wager would yield a $200 payout if the odds were +200. Your initial wager is reimbursed along with your profits in both situations. The favourite's chances of winning increase with the size of the difference between the underdog and favourite odds.
